Sponsoring Local Shelter Dogs

Dogs are in crisis. Shelters are full, adoptions are slowing, volunteers are burnt out, and financially, everyone is struggling.

It’s not their fault, but the dogs are the ones paying the price.

We use income generated by the directory to fund sponsorships that encourage adoptions.

What Does Sponsoring Include?

Every ten communities who join creates enough funding for us to sponsor another dog for up to $1,000. While every dog and situation is different, here are some ways that sponsorship money may be allocated:

  • Spaying / neutering

  • If the adopter lives at a participating community then it pays for pet fees, pet rents, and pet deposits.

  • Preventative care such as flea / tick / heartworm

  • Pet insurance

  • Microchipping, vaccines, specific medical needs

  • Dog specific needs such as training, daycare, or special supplies and equipment
